Ask any group of 3rd graders how they spent the weekend. Most likely, many if not most will have spent a large portion of their spare time at home, indoors, watching TV or playing video games. Our cities are spreading wider, open spaces are disappearing, and ready opportunities to experience the natural world are vanishing. As a society, we are becoming increasingly detached and removed from nature and the environment.
